Nolita Cafe is the brainchild of six hungry foodies determined to bring the comforting flavors of New American cuisine to Jakarta. Raised in Forest Hills, Queens, Cas Nainggolan (together with his foodie friends) created Nolita so that he could enjoy the same types of dishes he would find in his favorite cafes and restaurants in and around Soho.
Nolita caters to an ever more discerning market of comfort food lovers who will demand more than “instagramable” meals. The food has to taste good. The Indonesian palate is growing increasingly sophisticated. Although the local culture and cuisine will always reign supreme (as it should), there is a growing demand for the type of authentic, no fuss Western-style fare that Nolita aims to provide. The restaurant is also serious about its coffee. Teaming up with boutique coffee roasters Smoking Barrels, Nolita offers a house blend that is strong and full-bodied. In other words, something a hardened New Yorker would appreciate. Made from Bali, Toraja and Malabar beans, characteristics of the Nolita Espresso are citrus acidity, brown sugar sweetness and spices. The cappuccino offers hints of chocolate, caramel and tobacco.
Named after a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan known as North of Little Italy, Nolita Cafe in Pondok Indah is determined to live up to its namesake and bring a little bit of the East Coast to Jakarta. One was inspired by the same way Nolita in NYC is known for its rustic cafes, bustling creative scene and cozy eateries, Nolita Cafe Jakarta aims to emulate that same artisan environment. Relaxed, cultured and most importantly, consistent in its delivery of outstanding food, coffee and dessert.
